Oggi iniziamo una nuova serie di ASCOLTI, che hanno un doppio scopo, di aiutarti a capire meglio l’inglese parlato, e allo stesso tempo darti esempi di come sono usati i tempi verbali, uno alla volta!

Oggi, iniziamo dall’inzio, con il Present Simple.

C’è un testo da ascoltare, poi sotto, c’è la trascrizione che puoi leggere e studiare.

Sarebbe meglio, ovviamente, provare qualche volta ad ascoltare SENZA la trascrizione. Non preoccuparti se è troppo difficile, non è un test!

1. Present Simple – I work in the marketing department

I work in the marketing department of a multinational food company. I‘m responsible for packaging design, and for the production of the promotional materials we use in shops and supermarkets.

I coordinate the work of a small team of freelance graphic designers, and I report to the Head of Marketing.

The job offers flexible working hours, which means I can start at any time between eight-thirty and ten, and finish when I choose to, but not before three-thirty! I don’t like getting up early, so I don’t usually begin until around half-past nine, and I never go home until at least six.

I share an office with just two other people from marketing. It‘s a quiet place to work. We don’t talk much during the day, but sometimes we have lunch together, or go for a drink after work.

I spend a lot of my time answering e-mails. I get hundreds each day, but I don’t read them all. If they’re not important, I just delete them!

Once a week our department has a meeting to discuss current and future projects. Our manager works on the floor above ours, but I don’t usually go up there. I work independently, although of course I can e-mail or message her if there’s anything I need to ask.
