Chapter 2 – The Station
Luca looks at Marco. “Really? Shall we go together?”
“Sure!” replies Marco “We’ll go to Rome; you go to the casting and then we’ll go and try some of the local food.”
Luca is delighted. “Perfect! You’re a real pal, Marco. He gets up. “I’m paying for the lunch today.”
“Thanks,” says Marco.
The two leave the pizzeria. The city is full of people, many of them tourists, sightseeing.
Luca and Marco go to the station and look at the train timetables.
At the station there is pandemonium with trains leaving, trains arriving and people rushing in all directions.
Marco says “How about this one? It’s a through train, leaving at 08.20 and arriving at 10.35. When does the casting start?”
“At 14.00,” replies Luca ”so that one will be fine. We’ll have time to eat before we go to the casting. How much are the tickets?”
“I don’t know. Let’s go and ask at the ticket office,” says Marco.
The two friends join the queue. Luca talks about the casting in Rome and Marco listens.
The man in the ticket office is very helpful. He finds them two seats for the through train – first class, but with a last-minute discount – a special offer!
“What luck!” exclaims Marco.
“It may be a good omen,” replies Luca, as they leave the station.
“See you tomorrow at 08.00, then,” says Marco.
