Chapter 3 – What a figure!
He watches as the young woman puts the strawberries in her trolley and moves away. Without being noticed, Claudio continues to watch her. “Wow, she’s really beautiful. What a figure!”
After a few seconds he moves towards the freezer cabinets but she’s not there. “Where did she go?” He looks all around and sees she is at the meat section on the other side of the store. At this point an idea comes to Claudio.
“I’ve half a mind to invite her to dinner…” he thinks, searching for an excuse to speak to her. Moving towards her he takes the first thing he finds in the freezer, a pack of chicken breasts, and is about to ask her if she thinks they are good when….she’s disappeared again!
“Damn!”
But Claudio has seen her face, even though it was only for a few seconds, and is conscious of a strange sensation, one he doesn’t understand.
Even more curious and attracted to her, he decides to try again. Passing near the wine shelves he takes two bottles at random, again intending to ask her opinion and, hopefully, start a conversation. But now she’s already paying for her shopping!
Claudio runs towards the next checkout. Facing one another, for a moment their eyes meet. And the world around him suddenly stops. “Now I know who she is!”
