Chapter 6 – Not long now!
It’s the end of February. After weeks of training the big day is approaching.
Piero invites Marco to dinner to thank him for his help.
“Well, are you all ready?” asks Marco while they are eating dessert.
“Yes, I’m all prepared. I feel confident. But – there’s just one thing…”
“Let me guess,” says Marco, “You’re thinking about running in the moment, right?
“Yes, I still don’t really understand it,” Piero admits.
“To understand it you have to stop trying to find the answer,” laughs Marco. “Look at your cat. He understands running in the moment perfectly.”
Piero looks at Miro’. The cat, on the sofa, raises his head and miaows.
“When the moment comes, you’ll understand it, too. Don’t worry.” Marco reassures him.
When Marco is about to leave Piero thanks him again and promises to do his best.
The next morning, Piero takes the train to Rome. He arrives to a beautiful sunny spring day. The hotel is quiet and there are several other athletes staying there. He goes for a walk in a nearby park then dines in the hotel and has an early night.
